Our home for many years, I handpicked Brewster when I was house hunting for its beautiful historic village feel, stone walls, large trees, gorgeous beaches that you can walk on for hours, and a young vibrant community.
The children of Brewster attend the Eddy and Stonybrook Elementary Schools which are staffed by the most caring and nurturing individuals. There is a wonderful park called the Drummer Boy to play at, where a fun playground and bandstand stand proud amidst the rolling acreage. Sunday evening concerts and numerous antique and craft fairs are enjoyed annually at this spot. Brewster has many antique stores, art galleries, fine dining restaurants and great individual funky eating establishments! Also home now to one of the great Cape Cod Summer league baseball teams – the Brewster Whitecaps!
Brewster has 7 pristine Bay beaches and numerous freshwater ponds to enjoy. Magnificent homes on the water sit comfortably with the sand covered doorstops of cottages. Brewster has many neighborhoods – modern sub divisions and eclectic hamlets in beach or forest areas. The Punkhorn and Nickerson State park offer hundreds of acres of unspoilt beauty for hiking or biking. Camping at Nickerson is extremely popular in season. Brewster Recreation offers wonderful programs for youth and adults year round; and there are 2 superb golf courses run by the Town that residents of the town can enjoy for an incredibly reasonable fee. Another wonderful haunt of my family is the Museum of Natural History and the fabulous walking trails. My favorite trail is to Wing Island. The beauty of the land, sea and sky makes it hard to keep your eyes on the sand – but do – I have found arrowheads here and ancient ‘paint pots’.
Brewster is a wonderful town to buy Real estate in – full range of house styles for every budget.
